hi, i'm silas.
I’m Silas Orteza, a Nashville-based film and video editor with over eight years of experience in professional post-production workflows. I channel a lifelong passion for dramatic visual storytelling–with a strong emotional focus–into my mission: elevating digital content to a higher standard.
After leaving the independent and student film scene behind in 2015, I made the move to Los Angeles, California, where I assistant edited for Cinetel Films, Mar Vista Entertainment, SyFy, Framework Studio and Moving Picture Company on projects ranging from music videos to trailers and feature films. I then entered the YouTube and digital space as the lead editor for Michelle Khare, the host of HBO Max's Karma and a Streamy-Award-winning content creator. In 2022, I also appeared on The Editing Podcast hosted by Hayden Hillier-Smith and Jordan Orme.
In Nashville, Tennessee, I continue to work primarily on digital and documentary content for The Daily Wire, the streaming home of Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, original movies, PragerU, and Bentkey, a new children's entertainment platform.
When I'm not working, you'll probably find me spending time with my family or fixing our cars.
The postings on this site are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of Bentkey Ventures, Daily Wire Ventures, Bentkey or The Daily Wire.
